Daft Punk unveil full teaser for Random Access Memories

Daft Punk random access memories

Daft Punk have taken to their VEVO channel to unveil and uber-cool teaser-trailer for their forthcoming album Random Access Memories.

The video features the French ‘robots’ unboxing the Random Access Memories vinyl aboard a spaceship (yes, really!). Once unboxed, we see a large photo of the glass synth that was created just for the album launch.

It’s an incredibly cool video, and gives a further reveal of opening track Give Life Back To Music.

Daft Punk’s eagerly-awaited new album Random Access Memories is heavily rumoured to be available for full streaming as of tonight.

A tweet from French blog site ‘Disco Naïveté’ made the claim tonight, and subsequently set the web into overdrive.

 

We’ll be updating the story as and when we know more.

As part of Annie Mac Presents’ ‘Free Music Monday’, here comes a great mini-mix from newcomer Ben Pearce.

The summery disco mix on his track Patticakes features samples from the legendary Quincy Jones’ track Betcha Wouldn’t Hurt Me. The Manchester producer runs the underground label Purp&Soul and late last year he released his What I Might Do EP on Chase & Status’ label MTA. If you’re liking this make sure you get to one of his sets – he’s got a summer full of shows, including Bestival and Secret Garden Party!

Doin It Right is set to appear on the production duo’s eagerly-awaited forthcoming LP Random Access Memories.

It’s an incredibly low-res leak, but exciting nonetheless – take a listen at the top.

It’s been three years since his previous effort, 2010’s Another Round, but R&B crooner Jaheim is now back with the fantastic Age Ain’t A Factor. The upbeat ballad sounds incredibly like some Teddy Pendegrass, which in fairness probably comes from the sample of the Isley Brothers‘ Groove With You.

Just before going to air with their exclusive interview with Pete Tong, Daft Punk unveiled the latest episode of their Collaborators series, this time with the focus on legendary producer/song-writer Paul Williams.

The producer, whose work has been used in both chart-toppers and movie soundtracks over the past 5 decades, speaks candidly about how his style of writing changed when working with the French production duo on their forthcoming release Random Access Memories.

Hot on the heels of the upcoming release of their new album Random Access Memories, Daft Punk have given a rare interview with British DJ Pete Tong on his Radio 1 show.

Random Access Memories, the hugely anticipated follow up to their 2005 LP Human After All, pays strong homage to the sound of 1970’s disco/funk, and in this rare interview, the ‘robots’ actually go under their real guise to reveal all on their new album.

Rihanna set to extend acting career in new Josephine Baker biopic

After debuting her acting career in Battleship, singer Rihanna is being lined up to play late singer Josephine Baker in a forthcoming biopic.

In an announcement by movie producer W Lance Reynolds, the star was mentioned as the first choice to play the late French/American singer:

“Rihanna is one of the most talented performers of this millennium…. With her unique acting and performing abilities, I have no doubt she will bring Josephine back to life on the big screen.”

Obviously it’s just hearsay at the moment, but if true, would Rihanna’s involvement make you want to see the picture? Let us know below.
