After previewing the track last week, 2012 X Factor winner James Arthur has premiered his brand new track You’re Nobody ‘Til Somebody Loves You.

The track, full of big beats, bands, and gospel backing is simply wonderful. This guy’s talent is crazy and clearly his time spent in the studio with Labrinth has paid off (nb, it’s not confirmed who produced this but we wouldn’t be surprised if it was the Earthquake-maestro himself).

Chris Lilley, the creator and star of award-winning Australian comedy-docudrama Summer Heights High, is to reprise lead character Ja’mie King for new series Private School Girl.

The six-part series, to be shown on BBC Three in the UK toward the end of the year, sees Ja’mie complete her final year back at her original grammar school after her year placement at Summer Heights High school.

Speaking of the series, Lilley said “It’s along the same lines as my other shows, it’s a mockumentary style and I’ll play the characters. I want to keep as much of the show as possible a secret, but if you’ve loved my last three shows, this is part four.”

Madeon Boney Cut The Kid

Here’s a fab one for your Sunday morning; 16 year-old British producer/musician Alexander Bone (aka Boney) has, with a little help from his pals, covered Madeon’s Cut The Kid.

The track, whilst never been released as yet, has been a major hit at the French DJ’s live shows; massive kudos for the next wave of musicians for using real instruments instead of just relying on a Mac!

Eminem previews ‘Berzerk’ video (ft Kendrick Lamar & Rick Rubin)

During the half-time broadcast of the US football game between Michigan State and Notre Dame College last night, ESPN premiered, with Eminem’s backing of course, a short preview of the rapper’s eagerly-awaited new track Berzerk

The track produced by Rick Rubin (who also features in the video, along with Kendrick Lamar), continues Eminem’s quest for ‘returning to the old school’, with not only the song featuring heavy guitars on the beat, but also a VHS-esque accompanying video.

Berzerk is the lead single off Eminem’s forthcoming new album MMLP2, the follow-up to his smash 2000 album The Marshall Mathers LP. Check the ESPN video preview of Berzerk below; the full version is expected for a September 9th premiere.

US singer/songwriter Ariana Grande took to Jimmy Fallon’s US TV show last night, and as part of Fallon’s regular guest skit, the pair reworked some classic rap tracks with a Broadway twist. Dropping the ‘f-bomb’ and the ‘b**ches’, Grande’s powerful voice certainly helped put a fresh perspective on Jay Z’s 99 Problems, Cypress Hill’s Insane In The Brain and Macklemore’s Thrift Shop.

With all eyes and ears ready for Monday’s official reveal, it seems nothing can get past an online leak, and Arcade Fire’s new track Reflektor seems to have fallen into that trap.

The track, produced by US electro DJ James Murphy, is taken from the band’s new album of the same name, set for a 29th October release.

After her brilliant ‘comeback’ single The Apple caused people to sit up and take note, British singer/songwriter VV Brown, best known for her breakthrough track Shark In The Water, has unveiled her new album Samson & Delilah in full.

The album is Brown’s first since 2009’s Travelling Like The Light; the follow-up was set to be 2011’s Lollipops & Politics, however this was eventually shelved to make way for her 2013 record.

The album itself feels fairly ‘concept’ in its initially approach. Think MGMT meets Grace Jones, bizarre concoction but it seems to work; ultimately Brown is clearly seeking to find a spot for herself in the British music scene. Fortunately for her, it seems ‘unconventional’ is the ‘new black’ in today’s chart landscape – artists don’t seem to be afraid to push boundaries and even more fortunately, the public seem finally happy to embrace this. If there was any era for this album to succeed, the time is now.
