Missy Elliott previews new song ‘High’

After teasing her new song ‘Cool Off‘ less than a week back, Missy Elliott has now shared the latest excerpt of her time in studio with ‘High’, a song that’s likely to fall part of next year’s full-on onslaught of new music.

Released alongside the caption ““High” hey I ain’t no singer like that but I can hold a lil note”, Missy then reminded fans that her return is only round the corner – “the year 2019🔥”.

It’s been just over 13 years since Missy Elliott last released an album (2005’s ‘The Cookbook); for us, we can’t wait to hear what the next 12 months brings.

Hear Sia’s new song, ‘I’m Still Here’

Sia has followed up last month’s Amazon-exclusive ‘Step By Step’ with her new single ‘I’m Still Here’.

Released as part of her partnership with French fashion house Repetto, the track hears the artist struggle with her inner demons – “I’m fighting a battle. I’m fighting my shadow” she roars in a track whose timely release aligns with World Mental Health Day earlier in the week. She encourages perseverance though with the chorus reminding us how she’s overcome obstacles to still be around today.

It’s another solid gem from the superstar who rarely, if ever, puts a foot wrong. Let us know your thoughts below:

NETSKY has teamed up with David Guetta for their punchy new futuretronic-focussed, ‘Ice Cold’.

Featuring an instantly-recognisable sample of Foreigner’s ‘Cold as Ice’ (notably given an early-2000’s refresh courtesy of M.O.P.), the track comes ahead of NETSKY’s upcoming two-part album, ‘Pamtrees & Powerlines’.

Hear The Prodigy’s new single ‘Fight Fire With Fire’ (ft Ho99o9)

The Prodigy have unveiled their new track ‘Fight Fire With Fire’ ahead of next month’s release of their upcoming album ‘No Tourists’.

Featuring LA-based / New Jersey-raised hip-hop group Ho99o9, ‘Fight Fire With Fire’ comes as the first song The Prodigy’s Liam Howlett wrote for the new record. Of the track, he adds “As far as doing a collaboration, the Ho99o9 guys were the main band I wanted to work with, and this tune has so much danger embedded in it. It’s the best collaboration we have done”.

A collaborative project with producer Zaytoven, the record (which also features Future and Gunna) is Usher’s first full-length release since 2016’s ‘Hard II Love’, and comes as an ode and a love letter from the duo to Atlanta.

Hear Bondax’s long-awaited debut album ‘Revolve’

After spending the past six years delivering their answer to the future of electronica, Bondax have finally released their ambitious debut album, ‘Revolve’.

Spanning across a wealth of global soundscapes, the 10-track record is as eclectic as it is delicate – honing an evolution of a genre is no easy feat, but Bondax have shown that they fully understand what makes today’s electronic audiences tick, and firmly deliver various takes of futuretronica within the project.

“The idea of our circadian clock sits at the centre of ‘Revolve'” say Bondax’s Adam and George in explaining their new album “each track reflects a different moment in a single day which allowed us to explore the eclectic range of styles that have influenced us over the years. Like our earlier releases, many of the tracks were first recorded back at home, but we took inspiration from our travels across the world to build on them, featuring organic recordings from our favourite places in some tracks.”

Charli XCX and Troye Sivan have released the greatest music video for all time

Charli XCX and Troye Sivan have released the video for last week’s ‘1999’, and take it from us, it may well be the greatest video we’ve ever seen.

Featuring throwbacks to some of the most-iconic pop-culture moments of the ’90, the clip sees the duo morph from Jack and Rose in ‘Titanic’, all the way to Troye mimicking Eminem, The Backstreet Boys and Justin Timberlake. Charli, meanwhile, goes one step further, copycatting The Spice Girls’ ‘Say You’ll Be There’ visual, alongside TLC’s infamous ‘Waterfalls’ dance.

Hear Loyle Carner’s new single ‘Ottolenghi’, ft Jordan Rakei

Loyle Carner has returned with new music, over 18 months on from his stellar Mercury-nominated album ‘Yesterday’s Gone’.

Releasing his new song ‘Ottolenghi’, alongside the track’s official video, Loyle’s return hears him connect with friend Jordan Rakei. The song’s title is in reference to pioneering chef Yotam Ottolenghi (who also makes a cameo in the visual), whilst the clip itself follows Carner and his family on a train journey into the surreal.

Since the release of ‘Yesterday’s Gone’ Loyle has toured the world, started a cooking school for kids with ADHD, created an award-winning, bespoke rap for the Champions League final, campaigned for men’s mental health and fronted a worldwide YSL campaign. By anyone’s standards, Loyle has already achieved a fair whack. Whether ‘Ottolenghi’ leads the charge for a new full-length project remains to be seen, but regardless, his return is more than welcomed.
