Iron Maiden, Kiss and System of a Down have been announced as headliners for 2020’s Download Festival, organisers have confirmed.
The three-day festival which will take place on 12-14 June, will also see the likes of Deftones, Korn, Of Mice and Men, The Offspring and Disturbed among the first wave of acts set to grace Leicester’s Donington Park.
Iron Maiden’s appearance will mark one of only two UK festival shows next year for the iconic group; the band’s Bruce Dickinson says, “Next year we will play a number of countries and cities we have yet to visit on this incredible tour, so it is terrific to be able to accept the invitation to return to Download in 2020 and we will certainly go to town and add a few extra items to the show. This will be our seventh time headlining at Donington Park. It’s home turf and we all really enjoy playing this Festival, the vibe from the crowd is always fantastic.”
Meanwhile, Kiss’ show will mark a UK exclusive for the group whose mark on the scene spans over 45 years to-date. “I’ve said it before, Download Festival audiences are the best” says Gene Simmons – “They are up for whatever is thrown at them. KISS is going to come fully prepared to rock their world in 2020 to say Thank You for always showing up for us”.
Tickets for Download 2020 go onsale at 2pm, 25th September direct from Ticketmaster. Check the first wave of names below:
