Fleetwood Mac give strongest Glastonbury hints yet

Fleetwood Mac-frontman Mick Fleetwood has given the strongest hint yet that the band could finally be gracing Glastonbury Festival.

Consistently appearing on the annual rumour-mill, 2019 looked certain to be the year the iconic band would hit up the Pyramid Stage, having announced a set of shows at London’s Wembley Stadium that aligned with Glastonbury’s return. However appointments from Stormzy, The Cure and The Killers seemingly ruled any kind of appearance from the group.

BUT, it now looks like 2020 could indeed be on the cards, with Fleetwood Mac now looking likely to head up Glastonbury’s main stage on its fiftieth anniversary.

Midway during the band’s performance on the opening night of their Wembley stint (16th June), Mick hinted the six-piece (Fleetwood, John McVie, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, Mike Campbell and Neil Finn) still “had a big field to play”. Various Twitter accounts are also adding fuel to fire that the hints led to Worthy Farm – “a rained out festival in England next year” was appearently mentioned.

Glastonbury curator Emily Eavis has been vocal in the past about how much she would love the band to headline, however has cited high booking fees and unaligned diaries being the stumbling blocks over the years.

Glastonbury 2019 returns later this month, running 26-30th June.
