Arcadia organisers have revealed the first details of their upcoming Glastonbury 2019 return, with their new concept, Pangea.
Described by organisers as Arcadia’s “most ambitious engineering project to date”, their new stage (or arena, however you approach it) will remain a Glastonbury exclusive for the time-being, with the concept set to evolve annually over the next 5 years.
Built from an old dock crane, the Pangea structure, which will replace Arcadia’s infamous spider, will stand 50m tall and weigh 140 tonnes, and feature “a core of light, sound and energy [that] pulsates from its epicentre”.
DJ sets confirmed for 2019 so-far include the likes of Bicep, Craig Charles, Fatboy Slim b2b with Eats Everything (under their guise of Fat Boy Eats Everything), Sub Focus, Andy C and Carl Cox, among others.
