Childish Gambino’s anticipated new short film ‘Guava Island’ has premiered on Amazon ahead of its airing during Coachella’s second-day live-stream broadcast.
The 55-minute film, which stars Donald Glover as Deni, centres around the performer’s vision of bringing Guava islanders together for a music festival, alongside the trials and tribulations around such a feat (think musician struggles, booking issues and exploited workers). The movie’s premiere also appears following Childish Gambino’s Coachella headline set, where he delivered a gospel-inspired performance featuring hits spanning ‘This Is America’, ‘3005’ and ‘Redbone’.
