Primavera Sound announce huge 2019 line-up

Organisers of Barcelona’s Primavera Sound have announced their huge 2019 line-up, ahead of the festival’s return next summer.

The impressive list of names (which spans several hundred so far), sees the likes of Solange, Erykah Badu and Tame Impala at the top of the list. Whilst other notable acts for the festival, which runs from 30 May – 1st June, include Cardi B, Janelle Monae, FKA Twigs, Courtney Barnett, Jarvis Cocker, Carly Rae Jepsen, Charli XCX, James Blake, Primal Scream, and Future. Interpol, Frank Carter and Jungle are also on the line-up.

In a press release, Primavera organisers describe that 2019 will be the year of equality – “That in a line up there be equality between female and male artists should be normal, that gender barriers and pigeonholing be dismantled should be normal. That all stages, schedules and proposals be provocative should be normal. That the music of the new generations be embraced without forgetting how we got here should be normal.”

Of the 226 names, more than 50% of confirmed artists are women, which is bloody great news!
