Christine and The Queens became the latest entrant into Radio 1’s Live Lounge Month earlier today (21st November), bringing music from her recent album ‘Chris’ alongside a striking cover to the broadcaster’s Maida Vale Studios.
Performing her huge hit ‘5 Dollars’, the French singer (who’s currently touring the UK in support of her new record) also fused together Kate Bush’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ with Rihanna’s ‘Kiss It Better’ as her ‘Live Lounge cover’ of choice. Of the original, Chris spoke to Radio 1’s Clara Amfo, saying “When I think of Rihanna I think of empowerment. Anti is all about being strong when you unfold, which is quite compelling I think. The strength never stops, it’s quite a feminist statement”.
