Back toward the tail-end of September, Christina Aguilera kicked off her ‘Liberation Tour’, her first major set of shows since she toured her 2006 album, ‘Back To Basics’.
Currently doing the rounds in the US, it was last night’s stop at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall that’s been making all the headlines. And no, not because Bill and Hillary Clinton were in the audience, but instead Christina’s surprise on-stage reunion with Lil Kim.
Opening up solo on their huge global 2001 smash ‘Lady Marmalade’, the second verse saw Aguilera call out “We got a surprise: Lil’ Kim, Lil’ Kim, Lil’ Kim!” – Kim then graced the stage rapping her part of the infamous hit. Unfortunately neither P!nk nor Mya (or even Missy) appeared, but regardless, this was a LOT of fun. If only Kim could’ve stayed onstage long enough to perform ‘Can’t Hold Us Down’.
