26 years in the making, Chic’s long-awaited studio record ‘It’s About Time’ has landed, featuring a who’s-who list of collaborations spanning Elton John, Lady Gaga, NAO and Stefflon Don (among others).
Coming after somewhat of a resurgent few years for Nile Rodgers and his iconic disco band, the record was originally announced over four years ago, but that time has seen Rogers and co reflect back to the drawing board countless times, particularly after label spats with Warner.
Gaga herself appears on a modern-day rework of the band’s classic hit ‘I Want Your Love’, whilst previous singles ‘Till The World Falls’ and the Craig David-featuring ‘Sober’ also make appearances.
Is it a classic? Potentially not, but new Chic music can never be sneered at; as a perfectionist, ‘It’s About Time’ has the Nile Rodgers hallmark all over it. Listen below:
