Having become the go-to for big pop productions over the past few years (from Little Mix to Stormzy, Zara Larsson… even Beyonce), today finally marks the moment that MNEK can stamp his wings firmly into the pop sphere.
Sure he’s been sporadically releasing his own music since 2012, but for the most-part, he’s been more of a ‘turn-to’ kinda guy versus one who seemed wholly vested in being an artist in his own right. That’s all changed now, with the arrival of his long-awaited debut album ‘Language’.
Previous tracks ‘Tongue‘, ‘Paradise’, and recent single ‘Correct‘ all make an appearance, however the more-interesting of moments come later in the record, particularly on ‘Honeymood Phaze’ – a song that’ll totally appease the R&B purists.
‘Language’ seems a solid first stab from MNEK, and wholly serves as a showcase for the strength of his vocals alongside his impressive production abilities.
