Gladys Knight has announced a run of summer 2019 UK shows, with many signs pointing that she could indeed be Glastonbury’s fixture for next year’s ‘legends slot’.
Set to kick off her UK tour in Manchester on 22nd June, the soul empress will then travel across the country, concluding on 1st July at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall. She will also play two shows at London’s prestigious Royal Albert Hall on 26/27th June. Tickets go onsale next Thursday, 13th September.
Earlier this summer, Glastonbury curator Emily Eavis teased the booked act for the coveted Sunday afternoon tea-time slot is “a female. She is not British”. Speculation so far have spanned the likes of Diana Ross, Cher and Kylie Minogue – Knight would be a new entrant into the rumour-mill. With a scheduled gap on Friday 28th June, there’s also additional likelihood that the former frontwoman of The Pips could be heading to Worthy Farm either way.
