Despite initial reports saying the ceremony would be an intimate affair, the funeral for soul queen Aretha Franklin will now be live-streamed globally, alongside broadcast on television in the US.
According to reports from The Detroit Free Press, US stations Fox News and CNN will televise parts of the ceremony, whilst the Associated Press will live-stream online. Icons including Chaka Khan and Stevie Wonder will perform tributes to Franklin’s life during the ceremony. Jennifer Hudson, Faith Hill and Yolanda Adams will also take part, whilst speakers will include former US President Bill Clinton, Smokey Robinson, Jesse Jackson and Clive Davis. Franklin’s funeral will take place this coming Friday, 31st August from 10am ET.
