Emily Eavis teases more nuggets for Glastonbury 2019 & 2020

Emily Eavis has given further glimpses of 2019’s Glastonbury Festival, alongside the site’s 50th anniversary the following year.

First up, Eavis has confirmed that Glastonbury’s Block 9 will expand for 2019. Speaking to NME regarding Glastonbury’s return after 2018’s fallow year, Eavis teased some gradual tweaks to the site – “We’re spreading out Block 9 a bit” she said, adding “[we’re] giving them more space as they’ve got some pretty mind boggling ideas that we’re putting into action”.

Alongside Block 9, which is nestled in Worthy Farm’s south-east ‘naughty corner’, Emily also confirmed more developments – “We’ve been chatting to Arcadia about doing something quite radical in that field – they’ve come up with some inspired plans. It’s best kept under wraps, but it’s certainly raising the bar!”

The same interview also revealed that headliners for Glastonbury 2020, the festival’s 50th anniversary, are also nearly close to being finalised – “We have two lined up and a few ideas for the Sunday teatime slot too – that’s the new fourth headline slot”.

Glastonbury Festival returns to Worthy Farm on from 26-30th June 2019; Mike Pickering’s Hacienda Classical are the sole act confirmed for 2019 so far, after Pickering revealed the news on Radio X back in December.
