Joey Bada$$ has put his own spin on Prince’s ‘When Doves Cry’ for Triple J’s Like A Version segment.
Coming almost two years since the Purple One’s untimely death, the new interpretation, titled ‘When Thugs Cry’, hears Joey rework the classic track, switching lyrics to “Maybe I’m just like my brother, he’s never satisfied. Why do we shoot at each other? This is what it sounds like when thugs cry.”
