Whilst many eyes are fixated around next week’s Glastonbury, it’s often hard to forget that there’s still other awesome events in the festival calendar. Sure Bestival may close the whole season but every year it manages to do it in such a spectacular way that suddenly a countdown to the autumn can quickly get exciting.

Rob Da Bank and his crew have already announced this year’s Bestival line-up (headlined by The xx, A Tribe Called Quest, The Pet Shop Boys and Justice), but there’s still more goodies to come, and today, organisers have confirmed the return of their Slow Motion wellness area, located deep in Bestival’s colour-infused Dorset grounds.

This time in partnership with Balance Magazine, Slow Motion will see a dedicated programme of running, spin classes (whilst raving, obviously), euphoric yoga, meditation, body art, healthy food (good for the vegans among you!) and more.

Of the announcement, da Bank says “Josie and I, and a lot of the team bend, stretch, practice yoga, meditate, do weird things with turmeric and ginger, and occasionally levitate, so Slow Motion is very close to our hearts. We started Slow Motion because we saw people taking better care of themselves and it’s such a beautiful addition to our festival. Let’s get slow!”

Slow Motion Massage Therapies have also been confirmed too, covering a range of treatments including holistic massage, Reiki, reflexology, Ayurvedic treatments, Indian head massage and sound healing.

Tickets for Bestival are onsale now (be quick, mind – there’s not a huge amount remaining) – head over to Bestival.net for the full line-up and ticket info.
