Biffy Clyro will play the Pyramid Stage on the Sunday evening at this summer’s Glastonbury Festival, organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed.
Revealing the news to NME earlier today, the band will play ‘warm-up’ to Ed Sheeran who will close as headliner for 2017. Eavis also spoke of the Scottish band’s potential to headline at Worthy Farm in the future, saying “the thing with Biffy is that they’re obviously a massive headliner and they were headlining Reading last year, but they’re going to be playing under Ed Sheeran on Sunday, and I think that’ll be huge. We’re really grateful, and incredibly lucky to have bands that are that size to want to play and be up for playing in those slots as well.”
During the same interview, Emily also confirmed several surprise ‘secret sets’ at The Park to celebrate the area’s 10th anniversary – more on that (and other Glastonbury news) as and when we hear it.
Glastonbury 2017 runs from 21-25 June.
