Harry Styles announces new music with mysterious TV ad

Harry Styles has released a mysterious TV spot confirming his return to the music world as a soloist.

Premiered during the ad break for The Voice UK earlier this evening (Saturday 25th March), the 30-second ad teased a 7th April release date for the former One Direction member’s debut single. The date also aligns with a recent tease by US radio host Elvis Duran, who reportedly revealed Harry’s new song would air around that time.

Recently Hits Daily Double also teased Harry’s new sound, saying “In marked contrast to One Direction’s production by committee, Styles has crafted a set that recalls the regal high-water mark of ’70s British rock, Bowie and Queen in particular” they said, adding “The lead single sounds like it would be a smash in any decade”.

The release of the clip mirrors that of Adele who released a similar teaser with Hello during The X Factor UK ad-break back in 2015:
