If you’d have thought Vanessa White was a ‘run of the mill former girlband-member who’s branching out on her own’, then think again. Instead of going full-wind with a major focus on just throwing anything out there, White’s worked hard to create a solid ground of credibility, and today she pushes her unique focus of gorgeous R&B to the next level with Low Key.
Featuring Illa J (the younger brother of the late J Dilla), the seductive track also gives us the first glimpse of Vanessa’s upcoming second solo EP, the imaginatively-titled Chapter Two, and adds further ethos to “the real me”, as the associated press release mentions. “At the end of the day, it’s about the music and I want to connect with people who love R&B and this sound” White says, and boy does does she firmly deliver!
