Over the past couple of days, eagle-eyed fans of The Weeknd would have noticed something of a complete blackout on his social accounts, deleting all his Instagram pictures whilst changing his bio to purely read ‘Starboy’.
Well today everything has come clear – Starboy has now been confirmed as the title of Abel’s third anticipated record, which is expected to drop at some point before the year is out.
Whilst there’s been no mention as to when we’re likely to hear snippets of any new material, it’s been widely-known that The Weeknd’s been in the studio over the past few months, particularly with Diplo and Skrillex (Abel’s expected to feature on the forthcoming second Jack U record). Additionally his omission from Rihanna’s recent ‘ANTI World Tour’ was apparently due to his requirements to complete the new record.
The full Starboy artwork can be seen below; more of this as and when we hear it!
