Glastonbury 2017: Ticket release date confirmed

Glastonbury organisers have announced further details of 2017’s event, which runs at the site’s normal home from 21st-25th June 2017.

As per previous years, Coach + ticket packages will be sold earlier to general admission tickets, with sales kicking off at 6pm GMT on Thursday, 6th October. General release tickets will then follow three days later at 9am on Sunday, 9th October.

Following previous reports, the next fallow year will take place in 2018 to allow the farm to breathe (and give organisers a year off); contrary to earlier reports, there are no plans to hold an event at another location in 2018.

Ticket allocation will once again be based on pre-registrations, which remains free of charge. Head over to www.glastonburyregistration.co.uk if you’ve yet to set up an account. Registration closes at midday on Monday 3rd October. Ticket prices for Glastonbury 2017 will be £238 + £5 booking fee per ticket; once again children aged 12 and under will be admitted free of charge and do not need a ticket.

In terms of transport, Glastonbury 2017 will see a bigger environmental push versus previous years, with car park tickets now costing £45 each, a £10 hike over 2016’s cost; Campervan tickets for 2017 will cost £100 for a standard pitch (8m x 7m) or £200 for a double pitch (16m x 7m) and will be released, alongside Worthy View accommodation and Tipis, later in October.

For those opting to travel by coach, these passes will cost between £34 and £107.50 on top of the price of a normal ticket – prices vary on pick-up location.

More as we hear it.
