CR2 Records have been changing the dance-game for well over a decade now – no less than becoming one of the go-to indies for some of the finest releases out there (think Eric Prydz, Paul Woolford, Erick Morillo etc), the label have also been responsible for some absolutely top-notch nights all the way from Ibiza and Brazil to Miami’s Winter Music Conference.
It’s therefore pretty exciting that this Friday sees the latest instalment of their Ibiza series, a compilation of some of the finest house and dance gems that have hit the White Isle over the past few months.
Saturday saw us share TOKiMONSTA’s superb Caught In The Rain, and today we bringing you an exclusive from CR2’s new project, courtesy of Rotterdam-based producer Seconds NL and his bouncy Get Down. Whilst certainly falling under the ‘house’ moniker (with a hint of added bass thrown in), this one’s definitely something early-UKG fans will appreciate. Whilst maybe non-intentional,Get Down has all the bearings of mid-90s TuffJam-era, the kind of sonics that helped spiral speed garage from its humble London beginnings into a progressive movement in itself.
If you can tell your Ripgrooves from your Gunmans and your Just Gets Betters, than you’re gonna lap this one up – what’s more, Get Down‘s an instant grat download for when you preorder Ibiza 2016 over on iTunes!! Oh, and add to the fact there’s a further 50-odd joints on there (including cuts from Tobtok, Hannah Wants and Apexape’s excellent Joy & Pain), the entire compilation could well be the best six quid you’ve ever spent!
