South London newcomer RAYE has shared the video for I, U, Us, the latest track from her imaginatively-titled SECOND EP.
Premiered by MistaJam on his 1Xtra show yesterday, the visual also sees a directorial debut from Charli XCX, herself who joined RAYE as co-writer on the song. “We were jumping around in the studio like little kids when we wrote ‘I, U, Us’” says RAYE of the collaboration, adding “the song is me empowering myself and making myself feel bigger and better than the person who tried to make me feel small. I was chatting with Charli and she had a vision for the video so it was obvious to me that she should be the one to bring that to life. She’s never directed before but she’s a creative genius and totally on my wavelength. It’s about me feeling free and letting loose with my boys, and Charli nailed it.”
