After initially being teased for a July unveiling, Frank Ocean’s anticipated new album Boys Don’t Cry will now be released later this week, less than 24 hours after a mysterious live stream hit the web.
Set as an Apple Music exclusive, Boys Don’t Cry comes four years on from Frank’s excellent 2012 debut Channel Orange, with the New York Times citing that an accompanying print publication will also go onsale the same day at Apple Stores worldwide. The report also teases a ‘major video’ for a Friday release too.
Sources close to the NY Times have also confirmed that the album will stay with Apple Music for two weeks before being released on competitor platforms.
