Back in March, Pharrell Williams paid a visit to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, sitting down with Future Music students to discuss his own creative process alongside listening to the students’ own projects and offering his own constructive feedback.
However, it was Maggie Rogers who really blew Pharrell away with her self-penned Alaska, and now, following the virality of Williams’ reaction, the song has been fully-mastered and popped on the web.
Beautiful and raw, Alaska hears a striking kickstart to what’s likely to be a definite one-to-watch in Rogers, with a delicate groove that sounds far more mature than her years, both in terms of age and in musical-experience.
