Audio: Lapsley – ‘Operator’ (DJ Koze’s Extended Disco Version)

Earlier this year, Lapsley dropped her wonderful debut album Long Way Home, a project embodied with futuretronic expressionism far beyond her years. One of the standouts from the LP however came by way of the funky Operator (He Doesn’t Call Me), and today the heartbreak-fuelled joint gets even funkier thanks to DJ Koze’s disco remix.

It’s the latest track to be given Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record’ moniker, and even with one spin you’re fully transported back to 1970s NYC – this is lush beyond belief.

Bump a listen below – if you’re heading to Glastonbury later this month, we wouldn’t be surprised to hear this in the midst of Block 9 at some point in the early hours! Meanwhile, Glasto visitors can also catch Lapsley at the John Peel Stage on 25th June.
