The final allocation of tickets for this year’s Glastonbury Festival have sold out in quick time once again as festival goers pinned their last hopes on today’s resale.
Thousands of tickets became available at 9am this morning, quickly snapped up (in around 13 minutes) by fans looking to grace Worthy Farm in June for arguably the biggest event in the global festival calendar.
Tickets for Glastonbury 2016 originally went onsale in October last year, with all 135,000 selling out in a record 23 minutes, pipping the previous year’s also-record (for that time) of 25 minutes.
A fortnight back, Glastonbury organisers shared the first batch of names for this year’s soiree, which will see Muse, Adele and Coldplay headline the iconic Pyramid Stage – the likes of M83, ELO, James Blake, Skepta, Lapsley and Lady Leshurr were also confirmed.
Glastonbury 2016 will run from 22nd-26th June, and will return next year too before a fallow year kicks in in 2018 to allow time for the farm to rest.
