Following their recent future-themed announcement, Bestival organisers have confirmed that their heavily lauded Port stage is no longer, instead replaced with The Spaceport for 2016 (and potentially beyond).

Set to be headlined by Carl Cox, Diplo and Fatboy Slim, the new Spaceport has been described by Bestival-founder Rob Da Bank as “The Future of the dance”.

Standing 7-storeys high, it has been promised that The Spaceport will “beam out music day and night, lit by lasers with giant astronauts floating across the sky”. The stage will also feature a prominent 20-metre rocket in its centre, alongside one of the world’s most advanced sound systems.

The first wave of Bestival’s 2016 lineup was revealed last month, and sees headliners from The Cure and Diplo’s Major Lazer.
