In surprising news this morning, Radiohead have confirmed they were initially in line to record the theme tune for the latest James Bond movie, Spectre. Whilst we all know the accolade ended up with Sam Smith and his dubious Writing’s On The Wall, Thom Yorke and co have now shared their initial interpretation as a free download, and Christmas present for fans.
Announcing Spectre, Radiohead wrote “Last year we were asked to write a theme tune for the Bond movie Spectre. Yes we were. It didn’t work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much. As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it. Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.”
