Red Hot Chili Peppers are to return to Leeds and Reading Festivals next year, to headline the August event for the fourth time (and 22 years on from their first appearance there).
Announced moments ago, Leeds & Reading organiser Melvin Benn expressed his delight, saying “Their [RHCP] incredible live show will be an unforgettable headline performance at the UK’s biggest music festival,” adding “We’ve still got some really exciting names to announce and I can’t wait to reveal the rest of the line up. It’s going to be our best year yet.”
The announcement of the iconic band coincided with festival organisers teasing further acts for 2016. DJ EZ, The 1975, Slaves and Boy Better Know are also amongst the highlights for both festivals, which falls on the 26-28th August weekend next year.
