Following the huge success of this year’s event, Bestival has taken the title of Best Major Festival at this year’s UK Festival Awards.
Bestival 2015, which saw the likes of Chemical Brothers, Duran Duran and Missy Elliott amongst the performers, received rave reviews from both attendees and the press alike, with this year’s theme of The Summer Of Love completely living up to its expectation.
Of the win, Bestival curator and founder Rob Da Bank said:
“Oh crikey, Bestival HQ is in a psychedelic hangover fug today as news sinks in of our win last night at the Festival Awards. To win Best Major Festival in 2015 is testament to our incredibly faithful Bestivalites who come back year in year out, but also the likes of Missy, the Chems and Duran Duran for lighting up the skies, and mostly our tirelessly devoted staff and crew who make it all come together. This awards for all you guys…my mantelpiece is full already!”
Plans are now underway for Bestival 2016, which returns to its Robin Hill home in the Isle of Wight; as early as this morning, Da Bank confirmed that headliners for Toronto’s Bestival had already been agreed, with further “cracking acts” also signed for Bestival itself, alongside Common People and Camp Bestival.
Tickets for Bestival 2016 are available now, so head over to Ticketmaster (here) to find out more. Announcements on performers are expected to start trickling through early next year.
