Glastonbury 2016: Grimes confirmed; Adele still a possibility

Having previously ruled out any larger-festival appearances, it seems that Adele may be back on the cards for a prospective appearance at 2016’s Glastonbury Festival.

In a new Loaded interview with Glastonbury booker Martin Elbourne, it seems that talk of Adele gracing Worthy Farm has been ongoing for years (since 2012 to be exact). “There’s lots of talk about Adele and it’s in there in the mix” said Elbourne, adding “Adele is in a situation in her career where frankly she can do whatever the hell she likes. Hopefully it will happen and it still needs to be confirmed. She’s not into festivals but obviously, every promoter in the world wants to get her so fingers crossed, we are hoping it’s going to happen.”

In the revealing interview (which you can read more into here), Elbourne also confirms that Prince has been on Glastonbury’s wishlist too. “We were trying to get Prince for the last couple of years, but it just goes on forever,” he said.

Meanwhile, the interview also confirms Canadian musician Grimes will grace Glastonbury 2016, the first big name to publicly announce their appearance – “We are going to put Grimes on… we just have to figure out where.”

In other Glastonbury 2016 news, major talk has also shifted to a headliner performance from Rihanna, after the singer recently announced her ANTI World Tour, with the UK leg coinciding with the festival.
