Regular readers should be pretty-much up to speed on Hermitude, the Aussie electronic duo whose forward/future-focused thinking really is taking the genre into new realms.

Their latest album Dark Night Sweet Light came out earlier this year (alas, only in the Southern Hemisphere; expect a UK release early 2016), and whilst we’ve been stupidly-hyped around the record’s lead single The Buzz since it first dropped back in the spring, the Yeo-assisted Searchlight also became a favourite around our studio, and it’s today that we get to premiere a brand new remix of the joint, courtesy of fellow-Australian, CHIEFS.

Here, the Melbourne-based producer creates something startling with his fresh edit; almost trap-fuelled in its approach, CHIEFS’ Searchlight remix certainly stays true to his vision of generally bizarre out-there beats. Indeed, with electronica currently living at some of the healthiest heights its been in years, both Hermitude and CHIEFS seem to be pushing boundaries even further, and the latter wholeheartedly delivers on this ethos. It’s dark yet ironically embracing, and similarly, gives us further cues as to where ‘twisted-dancefloor’ could well be heading.

This one is definitely for your playlists, so grab a listen to CHIEFS’ Searchlight remix below:
