Showcasing a similar type of melody that made her aforementioned breakthrough so endearing in the first place, My Boy My Town is a transitional piece, and hears Mabel deliver a love story told through a passion for both an humane relationship entwined with the love of a city she calls home.
Timely-written during Mabel’s move from Stockholm to London, My Boy My Town further exemplifies the singer’s influences by the likes of Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu (plus we’re sure there’s more than a hint of craftsmanship handed down by her parents Neneh Cherry and Cameron McVey).
