It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything new from Kayper (we’re still spinning her Terminal EP fairly frequently here), however today, after a hectic few months with numerous live shows, the DJ/producer has taken time to drop off her latest joint, Next Lifetime.
Delivering a dancefloor-led overhaul of Erykah Badu’s iconic track of the same name, Kayper’s edit is a pure 2015 homage to the cut, bringing it up to speed for the modern-day house audiences. Admittedly we generally fear the worst when anyone dare ‘remixes’ one of our all-time favourites, however Kayper has kept the graciousness of the original to the song’s core, and instead delivered a tribute more than anything.
