As one of the biggest tracks from his debut album In Colour, Jamie xx’s I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times) undoubtedly became one of the biggest tracks of the summer – the track became a staple sun-drenched backdrop across The xx-frontman’s live shows over the past few months, and with its earworm-infections, it’s clear to see why.
Featuring Young Thug and Popcaan (plus a sample from The Persuasions’ 1972 cut of the same name), it wasn’t going to be long until I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times) received an official release. Today Jamie drops the track’s video-treatment, and it’s equally as compelling as the song itself.
With remixes having already reared their head from the likes of Skepta, Dre Skull and Ratking, it seems the excitement behind the song shows no sign of simmering down anytime soon (we’re hopeful for a full-on remix EP to drop at some point).
