When your parental makeup consists of Neneh Cherry and Cameron McVey, you know the pressure’s bound to be high for when you finally share your own material. Fortunately 19 year-old Mabel doesn’t fail to impress with her impeccably-mature debut Know Me Better.
The track, originally unveiled back in July (though brought to prominence to us by Radio 1’s Phil Taggart and Annie Mac), shows the influence Mabel’s parents have had on her music – think trip-hop with a wondrous R&B undertone, and you’re definitely somewhat near. In fact, Know Me Better feels far beyond Mabel’s years, and her career – this is absolutely gorgeous, and on first play, made us head over to iTunes straight away for the purchase.
You might even do the same too, so check out Know Me Better in full below; this is beautiful.
