Following last month’sannouncement regarding his new partnership with Jay Z’s TIDAL, Prince has unveiled all-new record HITNRUN (Phase One) on the streaming service.
Set to his digital retailers later this month (25th September), the 11-track HITNRUN (Phase One) is available to stream right this second, and features previously-released single HARDROCKLOVER and follows-on from last year’s double-project PLECTRUMELECTRUM and ARTOFFICIALAGE.
After previously panning streaming services, Prince recently explained his about-turn and why he picked the venture with TIDAL, saying “…After one meeting, it was obvious that Jay Z and the team he has assembled at Tidal recognise and applaud the effort that real musicians put in to their craft to achieve the very best they can at this pivotal time in the music industry…. Tidal have honoured us with a non-restrictive arrangement that once again allows us to continue making art in the fashion we’ve grown accustomed to, and we’re extremely grateful for their generous support”.
Head over to TIDAL straight away (here) to listen; for those more aligned to ‘other’ digital stores, you can hit the iTunes / Apple Music links for the preorder:
