Kwabs’ anticipated debut project Love + War lands in just over a week, and as both fans and the industry-alike gear up for the impending release comes a new track from the project.
The Dave Okumu-produced Layback may be one of the most striking cuts we’ve heard from the talented musician of late; it’s a rich entity that seems to set the path for what ‘future-R&B’ should be on-course for. Game-changer it may not be, but fully-immersive it is.
The track was premiered by Best Fit earlier today, with Kwabs saying “[Layback is] a new version of one of the first songs I ever wrote, produced by someone I hold very dear, Dave Okumu. I’m so happy that it has a home on this album”.
