Audio: Zak Abel – ‘Say Sumthin’ (prod. by Kaytranada)

Zak Abel’s early-215 EP gets constant spins in our office, so naturally our ears pricked up when we heard new music was on the horizon.

Today, we get the first glimpse of that material, this time hearing Kaytranada on production duties for the 80s synth-inspired piece of brilliance, Say Sumthin. In a few words, Abel’s new joint is destined to be massive; there’s a clear throwback on this one, though the way Say Somethin seems so fresh is endearing in itself.

With Zak’s new project (One Hand On The Future) set to include productions from Karma Kid and Tom Misch (the latter whose new Beat Tape 2 collection lands later this week), it’s safe to say ‘credible pop’ may have found a new hero.
