Audio: Tom Misch – ‘Wake Up This Day’ (feat. Jordan Rakei)

Tom Misch’s upcoming Beat Tape 2 project has already received two stunning releases by way of In The Midst Of It All and Wander With Me; today however marks the third except from the collection, seeing the producer hook up with Jordan Rakei for the exquisite Wake Up This Day.

A proper ‘shut-your-eyes-and-melt-away’ moment, Wake Up This Day (alongside the rest of Misch’s output) is a refreshing foray into the almost forgotten soulful side of electronica; there’s actual groove in here – a feature that seems to have melted away in charts dominated by pop, house and overly-average EDM,

Beat Tape 2 is already garnering a lot of anticipation, and with tracks like Wake Up This Day to contend with, that anticipation seems truly justified.

Grab a listen at the top of this post; Beat Tape 2 drops on 28th August and can be preordered via the iTunes / Apple Music link:
