It’s been almost 16 years since Dr Dre released his last full-length project (2001), and whilst fans have been [impatiently] waiting for the rumoured follow-up (titled Detox), it seems that moment for all-new Dre material may be sooner rather than later.
Next week, Dr Dre will release an original soundtrack for the upcoming NWA. biopic Straight Outta Compton, which, according to the movie’s director, will feature all-new music from Dre, alongside appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Eminem and more.
Explaining the new project, Ice Cube said “It’s mega, it’s Dr. Dre, it’s what everybody’s been waiting for…..It’s definitely a dope record, and he’s dropping it all on the same day.”. New NWA music will also appear on the project.
