Whilst James Blake fans eagerly await his anticipated upcoming studio album, it seems that actually we’ve all been hearing the record’s title-track a while, yet it’s only recently come to light!
During his set at Latitude 2015 over the weekend, Blake teased Radio Silence (the apparent working title of the follow-up to his acclaimed 2013 LP Overgrown), disguised within his cover of Bill Withers’ Hope She’ll Be Happier (which, according to DIY, is a staple of his live sets).
“It’s really nice to be with you as the sun goes down, it’s always my favourite time to play” Blake said, continuing “I’m writing a new album. We played something from it earlier – I hope you liked it.”
Whilst there’s still no word as to when Radio Silence will drop (or if the finished product will still utilise that name), a fan recorded the full track at James’ show in Tampa, Florida, back in May. Catch the full footage at the top of this post.
