Following rumours spinning out of control earlier this year, Damon Albarn has put fans’ ease to rest, confirming that a new Gorillaz album will soon be in the works.
Announcing the news during an interview with Australia’s 7.30 show, Albarn stated that fans won’t have long to wait – “I’m starting recording in September for a new Gorillaz record. I’ve just been really, really busy so I haven’t had a chance. I’d love to just get back into that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week.”
Albarn is currently riding high with his Blur reformation on their new record The Magic Whip; whilst a release date for new Gorillaz material has yet to be confirmed, the prospect of an all-new project after a five year absence can only be a great thing!
