Glastonbury 2015: The Who confirmed as final headliner

Following recent tabloid rumours, The Who have been confirmed as the final headliner for this summer’s Glastonbury Festival.

Announcing the news moments ago, The Who’s appearance at Worthy Farm fills the ‘missing piece of the puzzle’ of who will headline all three nights of Glastonbury 2015 (with the Foo Fighters and Kanye West confirmed for the Friday and Saturday nights respectfully). Paul Weller will perform prior to the iconic band.

Roger Daltrey and his cohorts are currently celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, with headline appearances at London’s British Summer Time, alongside various stints across Europe – initial response to rumours saw clashes with a show in Paris, however that event has since been cancelled.

The Who last played Glastonbury eight years ago, again closing the festival on the final night. Of this year’s appointment, Roger Daltrey said It’s great to be ending this part of a 50 year career at the most prestigious and respected music festival in the world. We’ll do our best to close this years event with a bang, unless of course the fireworks get wet!

Glastonbury Festival organisers have so-far only revealed a small number of acts that are set to appear next month, with the full line-up expected to be announced by 1st June. Stay posted to Stagedoor FM for more Glastonbury news as and when we hear it.
