Earlier this week, Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis set the web into a spin, teasing the final headliner for this summer’s extravaganza.
Speaking at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, Eavis confirmed that the next line-up announcement will take place on 1st June, the reveal which will also shed light on the final headliner.
During a Q&A, Eavis hinted that the headliner set to close the show is likely to actually be two acts, and “most likely British” – this sent rumour-mongers into overdrive with many speculating a reformation of Oasis following a recent reveal the Gallagher brothers were back on speaking terms.
However, Eavis’ daughter Emily has now quashed rumours of two bands coming together, replying to a Glastonbury attendee on Twitter earlier this evening:
“We are announcing one band as headliner but a great penultimate too” said Eavis; we’ll let you decide whether that clears things up or not, but for us, Glastonbury 2015 could not come soon enough.
Last week, the Eavis family unveiled the initial line-up for Glastonbury 2015, whetting appetites with the appearance of Florence & The Machine, Jamie T, Mark Ronson, Suede, Rudimental and more. Check the full announcement, here.
