The BBC have revealed details of their annual BBC Proms as the broadcaster looks to celebrate the coveted event’s 120th birthday.
Amongst the mix of classical performances (that run throughout July, August and September), the BBC have also confirmed that Proms 2015 will celebrate the best in Radio 1 & 1Xtra’s output, with the iconic Proms’ twist.
Set to take place on 29th July, Pete Tong will host Radio 1’s Prom night, working with the Heritage Orchestra to give a classical spin on cult Ibiza club classics.
Meanwhile, 1Xtra will also receive their own night. Hosted by Mistajam and Sian Anderson, ‘Late Night with BBC 1Xtra: A Grime Symphony’ will take place on 12th August, and feature some of the UK’s strongest specialist talent, including Wretch 32, Stormzy, Lethal Bizzle, Chip, Krept & Konan and more.
Tickets are available now here (for Radio 1) and here (for 1Xtra). All performances will take place at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
