The Music app on Apple’s iPhone & iPad devices is set for a major overhaul in the next release of its iOS mobile operating system.
With iOS v.8.3 released to the public less than a fortnight ago, beta versions of the follow-up (iOS8.4) have now been sent to developers, showcasing a major rework and an all-new interface.
Some of the highlights of the Music overhaul include:
– Access to search iTunes Radio (this looks to be US-only for the time-being).
– More detailed customised playlists (with the ability to add preferred artwork, alongside a description).
– recently-added content (new singles/albums) will also be highlighted on the app’s open screen.
Check the full new interface below; a release date for iOS8.4 is expected before the summer, and likely to be the final update prior to the anticpated unveiling of iOS’ next major release, iOS9. Expect to hear more of that in June’s WWDC.
