Last year, everyone pretty-much lost their shit to Ryn Weaver’s Octahate, and with good reason too – pretty much because it was one of the standout surprises of the late-summer season.
Today, Weaver (aka Aryn Wüthrich) attempts to capitalise on the still-sounding-fucking-great success of Octahate with her incredible new single The Fool. Set as the title-track from the singer’s forthcoming studio debut (which lands in June), The Fool is a powerful indie-tronic cut entwined some strong percussion encapsulating into some kinda Florence’y-type thing. Ironically, it’s also really not anything like Florence… you’ll get the gist when you hear it. What’s more, it’s also produced by Passion Pit’s Michael Angelekos (this becomes fairly obvious on first-play).
This is a big anthem that’ll bode well for the incoming festival season.
